So I have been giving LO vitamin D as instructed for BF babies. But now that we are going outside so often (about once a day) do I still need to continue? Thanks!
ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!
Depends on where you live, your skin type, etc. Your Dr can tell you for sure. Most adults here (Newfoundland) are deficient because we don't get much sun, so its recommended for all BF babies. I'm continuing through the summer just so I don't have to worry about it.
Because you should not be exposing enough of babies sensitive skin to enough sunlight to make enough vitamin D....there's this stuff called sunblock. And shade. Use it. Don't let your LO get skin cancer because you were concerned about giving a vitamin supplement.
this. and as more research on Vit D emerges, we are finding that A LOT of people are deficient in it, and that is correlated with a variety of health issues. I am continuing to give it.

Thanks for all your responses! This is what I figured.
