Eye Twitching

I have had my upper eye lid twitch every once and a while before I got pregnant. It wouldn't last more than a few minutes. However, my upper eye lid has been twitching for 3 weeks now. Its driving me nuts!! Has this happened to anyone else? Could this possibly be from pregnancy?

Re: Eye Twitching

  • I've had twitching below my eye a lot more often since getting pregnant!

  • Eyelid twitching is usally due to lack of sleep, too much caffeine, or stress

  • Eye twitching can be caused by magnesium deficiency. If you've had restless legs, too, then you're definitely magnesium deficient. Try a good calcium magnesium supplement and see if that helps. :D

Low on potassium - eat more bananas in your diet...
  • I didnt have a reoccurring issue with this but I did have one day that my eye twitched from the second i got up till i went to bed! I didnt sleep good 2 nights in a row, after a good nights sleep it was all fixed! Are you sleeping well or stressed about anything?

  • Usually stress! Also can be a potassium or magnesium deficiency. See what your Dr. says about a supplement.
  • Thanks everyone. I have been sleeping, so I think I can count that out. But I will def ask my doctor about a supplement

  • Yes! I have been experiencing an eye twitch for two and a half weeks now; upper right eyelid. I read that it can be attributed to dry eye, stress, fatigue, lack of sleep, caffeine. I can't imagine myself being deficient of any particular nutrient with the strong prenatal vitamin I consume. I noticed that when I am able to get restful sleep, the twitch subsides.
  • This could also be from dehydration. Make sure you are getting enough water.
