Breastfeeding

Should i be worried?

The last two days my LO is not eating as much as normal. Typically she eats every 2 to 3 hrs for 10 min each feeding. Now she will only eat for abt 5 min. I'm worried that its not enough. My mom told me that if she is hungry then she will eat and that I'm worrying over nothing. Has anyone had their LO have a decrease in appetite? Any thoughts/suggestions?

At that age LO may just be getting more efficient. Has LO been weighed recently? If weight gain is appropriate, I wouldn't worry too much. If you are worried you can always offer more often.

  • I agree with PP. With DD, I remember a lot if advice that breastfeeding got easier at 6 weeks, and it did, as DD space out feed a bit more, and I felt less like I was breastfeeding her constantly. If weight is good and LO is healthy, congrats--it's gotten easier!
