Birthday Parties

party food

DD's b-day party is from 2-4, what should I serve for food?  At parties around here we usually eat first, then do cake & presents.

Re: party food

  • I wouldn't expect a full meal at a 2pm party unless it's written out on the invite; at that time I'd just expect some cold appetizers, veggie, fruit and cold cuts/cheese platters, chips and what-nots and then cake at the end

  • I agree, no full meal necessary. Heavy snacks would be good.

    Great, thanks!
  • At my son's 2nd birthday party (at 3 pm), we had veggies and dip, crackers with cream cheese and tomato preserves, fruit, and snack packs with Annie's bunny crackers, applesauce, and Rice Krispie treats for the kids, plus cupcakes.

  • I always do a full meal, but I specify there will be food in the invite so people show up hungry.
