3rd Trimester

Advice Please!!!!

So at 38 weeks found our that my baby girl decided to turn. Since 35 weeks she was head down and now she's breech I never thought I would have to have a c-section since my other 3 children were vaginal. For two days they monitor her and checked her postion with a ultrasound and still did not move.

Now I am schedule for a C-section this Tuesday at 7:30 am they will do a sano before and if she moved head down they will induce me and hope to have her vaginally but if she didn't they will continue the C-section.

I have never had a c section and need advice on how does it feel, how long did your c section take? and how was your recovery experience?

Thanksss

Re: Advice Please!!!!

  • My first was an emergency c/s & the experience was a little jarring. My second was planned & at a bigger hospital with a much better doctor. It was actually really easy. The experience was very calm & went by quickly. It does feel a little "odd" but you can't feel any pain obviously due to meds. I was in the hospital for 3 days & up on my feet day of I believe. Recovery wasn't bad but I did need help with lifting ect. The pain meds after delivery made a big difference for me during recovery. The meds I used with my first wiped me out, the second set weren't bad. The trick is to take it easy & don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

FTM, so no C-Section advise, but I have heard great things about spinningbabies.com. If there is still hope that she may turn before your scheduled C-Section, maybe some of the exercises there could help?

My baby was breech as well.  The C-Section to me was not an issue at all, a little tugging I felt but that was it.

The recovery also wasn't bad for me but I think that depends on peoples pain threshold.  I am not a sit in the bed rest lady so I wanted to move  as soon as they late me.

I was taking my little one for walks around the hospital, very slowly but I did.  You can do it!!

I was thinking same thing. I did a lot of inversions from spinning babies with my ds. He was head down, just not over cervix. Can't say if it worked or not but I liked being proactive.
Also, I'm due for a c sec for the first time and liked reading the info on the c sec board.
  • No advice for a c section, but have you tried acupuncture to get her to turn? I've heard great results!

I would try spinning babies.com and get a second opinion, you can deliver breech. Breech does not equal a csection
