3rd Trimester

Babymoon....with Toddler :-)

Hello ladies! Happy Friday! This is my first post in the third-tri board :-)

DH and I are planning a mini-getaway before the baby comes. We are actually leaving next week for KC. We live in Omaha, so it's only about a 3 hour drive. We have a 3.5 year old and are planning a day at Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun.

Granted, I cannot ride any rides but I thought it would be a fun "special" weekend.  We just plan on being gone for two days-  theme park, hotel stay, dining out...

I will be 29 weeks at the time of this trip. Do you think this is okay? the drive is only about 3 hours.

Also, anyone else take toddler(s) to Worlds/Oceans of Fun...feedback, recommendations, tips???

  • Just curious: the trip is already planned, right? So, if you didn't think driving 3 hours away at 29 weeks was going to be ok, don't you think you should have figured that out before now?

    LOL, anyway, yes, that's fine.

ETA: You should confirm with your doctor. Individual circumstances may make this trip an issue for you. Typically, it would not be an issue though for a normal, healthy pregnancy.

  • My only concern would be the heat, but I live in Texas so it's already hot as Hades here. Everything else sounds fun.

  • you should be fine. hopefully you wont have a baby kicking your ribs the whole time :) have fun!
  • I took a 10 plus hour plane ride at 27 weeks for our babymoon with dd number 1 and was fine. I'm sure a 3 hour car ride is okay. If you're worried call your dr

Im from the same area - drive should be fine. may take longer with more pit stops. Lots of walking, I would personally be on the water side most of the day and sit in the pools. Let the DH take the toddler for a bit and just relax. should be a great time. If DH like beer check out Boulevard Brewing Company they have free tours and tastings at the end.
