I was looking at
bottles the other night and figured I should think about picking some up
soon! However - do I pump the milk into a bottle? or a bag? or what do I
do? What are my options?
I personally found it easiest to pump into bottles--- the ones that came with my Medela PISA (and also some free Similac ones I got free at the hospital) and I also bought extra 8oz ones for when my supply increased and I was pumping 6oz+ per side. If I were using them immediately, I stored in these but only up to a couple days in the fridge. Otherwise, I poured them into the Lansinoh freezer storage bags -- they easily held 6-7oz with almost no leaks ever (I EBF and pumped for a total of 27mo with both kids!). Medela makes bags you can pump into but I found them awkward to attach and they also didn't seal as well or hold as much as the Lansinoh bags. The Medela bottles also have nipples you can attach right to them to feed from if you want.

I had the hospital grade medela and had to pump into these tiny bottles. Then I would transfer into bottles.
