Hey baby!
Since you were asking about "school" like activities a few days ago, I thought I'd share a few ideas off of Alex's November "learn at home" sheet they give us every month at preschool. I just got it yesterday and I was thinking of you when I read it.
They are really focusing on learning the beginning/middle/end of stories. So, asking questions like "what happened in the beginning" or "where were they at the end", etc.
For math, they are talking a lot about matching and organizing. One suggestion I liked is to cut out things from magazines (cars, food, people) and then cut them in half, and give then to the child to match up, like, maybe three things so six halves or whatnot. I haven't tried that yet but I plan to next week.
I also got these cool foam shapes at Joanne's today- they are in different colors and shapes of different balls (Alex loves balls). So tonight, while I was working, I had him in his high chair, and first I had him sort them by type of ball (all the soccer balls in the bowl, all the baseballs in the bowl, etc). Then, I had him sort them by color (all the red balls in the bowl, all the yellow balls in the bowl, etc). He loved it and it kept him busy. They had all sorts of different foam shapes to choose from. Alex also learns Spanish at school so he was doing his colors in Spanish too.
Anyway, just thought that I would share with you since you were asking the other day. There's way more but those were the ones I thought were interesting... if I come across anything else interesting I'll let you know!
