LO consistently soaks thru her NB alva's when I use just a sole MF insert that came with. If I stuff with a prefold were fine. I was going to order some OS alva's but now I'm not so sure. Are they very absorbant? my sunbaby OS work great with just a sole MF insert.

I have read the Alva MF isn't the best, but read a lot of good things about their bamboo.  That's what most of my stash is and I love it. I only use 2 bamboo at night and it gets my 9mo through about 12 hrs.

Alva MF sucks. I stuff all ours with prefolds or flats. They work great when stuffed with something else.

At nearly 1 year DD uses Alvas stuffed with 1 MF and 1 bamboo or a single medium bamboo prefold or some variation combo of those 3 depending on how absorbent I need the diaper to be. She CAN use one stuffed with a single MF insert, but it doesn't last long for sure.

I've just never been impressed with MF in general, and I've tried quite a few brands. Natural fibers seem to absorb more IMO

I love my Alvas with their bamboo inserts. I never really used the MF.

I never used the bulky mf inserts, but I love their bamboo and blend.
