Do you do separate towel laundry?
Why?
I have stopped separating all laundry and I feel like I should go back to separating it, but DH has really quit following my system and I'm too lazy to sort it before washing. I just wait until a basket is full and then into the wash it goes. Everything gets washed on cold.

I separate by 'type' (I guess?), but not color. Like, I do DHs work laundry by itself because he works on engines so, yea, I'd prefer to not wash our clothes with diesel and antifreeze lol, then I do out regular clothes and DSs clothes, sometimes together sometimes not, I do our jeans separately, and I separate towels and sheets.
I don't separate whites and darks because we usually don't have a lot of white or light clothes so it would be forever before I had a full load.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
All the towels and wash cloths get washed together on hot, as do the kitchen towels. All of the whites and underclothes get washed together, I throw all of my clothes and DH's clothes in together. DS's clothes get washed separately since he has super sensitive skin and cant have his clothes dryed with fabric softener sheet like I do for DH and mine.
Towels are their own load. We go through a ton of towels since the dogs get rinsed off almost everytime they come in from outside.
Jeans, darks, lights, whites, DS's clothes and towels, and DH's clothes when he is in the field or working on machinery are all seperate loads.
I separate reds, darks and lights, towels go into wathever load they match by color
Also, each kid gets a separate load; DD because I wash it with hot water and hipoallergenic soap and DS because he has his own hamper in his room so it just easier to pick it all up and throw it in the washer (his doesn't get separated by color)

my read shelf:
We have a rolling separated dirty clothes hamper, the boys have a hamper and we have a CD hamper.
I don't separate except when I'm putting the clothes in the actual hamper. White socks come off my feet and go directly into the whites portion of the rolling hamper. Towels go into our towel portion of the rolling hamper. Darks and colors come off our bodies and go directly into the third section (I don't separate colors from darks).
Boys clothes get washed separately because they need special treatment (no fragrance, no fabric softener, etc).
CDs get separated because, well, they're CDs.
So, yes, I separately wash my towels -- they do get washed with blankets and other bedding.
