How many of you are sticking by the traditional profesh photo schedule~ 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, etc.
We didn't do official newborn photos since DS had terrible jaundice and was on a billy blanket for almost two weeks, so we did one month photos instead. Then we did his three month pics closer to four months...and with wrapping up the school year as a teacher I just totally dropped the ball on 6 month pics.
We do take monthly photos with our nice DSLR camera...should I feel guilty for not doing a better job taking professional pics? I have about 1,000 pics on my iphone, and the majority are of DS, so it's not like we aren't documenting amazing moments ![]()
Re: Traditional Pictures
Hahah this
Now I am like oh no, I missed the boat on this
My MIL asked about his 6 month pics today, which led to this conversation. Glad I'm not alone here!
I'm a photographer, so besides the gazillion candids, I've also got a billion formal shots. LOL
But, I've had family pictures done for newborn and 6 months and then I will again at 1 year.
Absolutely not! I think only the Internet makes people feel like this is mandatory. I never had these kinds of pictures done when I was little, and I don't have any intention of getting these done on a regular basis with LO. Too expensive...
When we move into our new house, we will have an entire basement area that I was going to use to set up my lighting kits. But for now, all I have are candids. I'm not terribly interested in formal shots, really, but I was hoping to set something up for his first birthday.
I am so jealous! Right now I'm.pricing studio space and.it makes my head spin. I would love to be able to do it out of.my house!!
You are fine never knew there was a recc schedule for stiff like this. we take a ton of photos ourself. we did take 6mos professional pics just because we had not done anything since xmas card/announcement at 2mos AND had a coupon so session was 17 bucks with tax:)
We bought one newborn hospital pic just for us:)
We don't plan on following any particular schedule
Yeah...don't blame you...
We just did newborn at hospital, Christmas photo at 8 weeks, then more at 7 months, and will take more at a year. We used Picture People for 8 weeks and it was a madhouse and unpleasant. I spent about the same amount ($150) at 7 months old for a photographer to come to our house and all the rights to the photos - she did a fabulous job and I plan on using her exclusively in the future. I waited until 7 months because I wanted her to be sitting really well to avoid propping. I will AW some of those photos now.
