Newborn/quantity

I did not start cloth diapering with dd until about 7 months. How many newborn diapers do I need? I will do laundry every day to every other day. Thanks!

When my DS could only fit in newborn size, we had 17 diapers that fit him. We were doing laundry every day. I recommend 24 diapers so that you can wash EOD.

Eta: I should add that sometimes we ran out and had to put him in a small prefold. So, really under 24, and you're stressing about washing and running out, IMO.

I had 24 small Imagine Smart Fit prefolds, 6 Kissaluvs size 0s, and 6 covers. That was a good amount for washing daily to every other day.  I averaged 14 diapers a day for the first few weeks.

We went for newborn dipes and had 10 Imagine bamboo AIOs, 6 bumgenius AIO, 12 osocozy prefolds, 1 thirsties cover and six li'l joeys, 2 swaddlebees AIO and we were able to do laundry every other day. 

We could have done without the li'l joeys...didnt last long enough absorbency-wise, and loved the prefolds much more than expected. The prefolds are a less expensive option, and can later be used as inserts for pockets

I had 12 that I liked (8 AIO, 4 fitted) and washed daily. I had 6 prefolds to use during laundry time. I'd say 24 min to wash EOD.

We have 24 GMD prefolds and like 15 covers, but that's mostly because I'm crazy. We could easily do with like 5 covers. :-) I also have been incorporating Rumparooz OS pockets, but we don't *need* them. I just like them. lol We do laundry every other day.

I have 36 prefolds and 8 covers, which is waaay more than I need.  5-6 covers would be plenty and I could probably get away with 2 dozen prefolds.  i use the prefolds for other things (like naked tummy time!) and I like not having to worry about running out while washing EOD.

I have 24 orange prefolds, 5 covers, 1 swaddlebee aio, and 2 grovia aio (which I hate.) I wash eod.

why don't you like the grovia AIO? I used some with my toddler and liked them, was thinking of getting some newborn.

We have 28 that fit right now. I wash every other day and have come close to running out a couple times.
