A lady is feeding her ds so much food he's only drinking 2oz of formula. From what I understood that's total! Her pedi said that's good and if he's thirsty to give him water! Everyone was like "no! Less food more formula!" Her title was "too much food?" Then she said we were all strangers on the Internet and wasn't going to listen and basically that we all suck and her pedi is soo great. He's so great because he was her Dh pedi 27 years ago mind you. Someone told her she's an idiot and to google it, but in more words. I wanted to do a slow clap. Baby was 5m.
You know leave her alone. She asked a question and yes didn't like th answers but that doesn't mean you can bash her. I haven't started my baby on solids so I don't know and I'm a first time mom. There are so many things I don't know and when I come on here and ask a question I don't want to feel like people were making her feel. What I'm saying is stop being bullies to her.

You must be new?? However, there is a difference between "not knowing" when it comes to babies and having a shred of common sense and it being completely obvious. A 5 month old eating all solids and not that much formula is a big DUH.
I was nice and so was everyone else until she bashed all the polite people who gave their advice. Someone called her out after that, next thing I know it's gone. I was going to go back and reread to see if I was mistaken about the 2oz of formula per day. I hope I was, because that baby needs those nutrients, that is all we were telling her. She didn't get bashed until she did the bashing.
Btw I give my baby solids, but her bm intake is still the same, and I certainly am not replacing it with water.
Seriously, why ask a question when you probably aren't going to like the answers? I thought it was pretty common knowledge that babies need more than 2oz of BM/formula a day.

Absolutely no one bullied her. At all. Actually, people were surprisingly supportive. She just didn't like the answers she was getting. For once, every single poster was giving her the same answer - she should only be offering solids AFTER feeding her 5 month old son formula/breast milk. it wasn't like she was debating sleep training, formula vs. breast milk, or disposable vs. cloth diapers.
But let's be honest here, if your DD was only drinking 2oz of formula or breast milk a day, wouldn't you be concerned? Sometimes when people post things that are clearly concerning, people have to be straight up and forward with their answers. It's not doing anyone favors to sugar coat things, especially if a baby could be at risk. And I'm sorry, but a 5 month old who is only getting 2 ounces of formula a day (the oatmeal and apple puree really have no calories/nutritional value) and is underweight is concerning and the poster needs to realize that.
2 oz a day? Jeez,I didn't see it but I hope she rethinks that and gets a second opinion. Also, people need to calm their tits with the word "bullying". I am so sick of seeing it thrown around casually.
Oh yeah, I read that post, but at that point they were all normal, helpful "2 oz? No, they need more than that..." kinda thing. I was expecting her to come back and correct the amount of formula, couldn't believe a 5 mo old would only have that a day. I'd hoped maybe at mealtimes the baby took 2oz with the food and bottles the rest of the day.

i would be concerned. We just went through a day where she only drank 3 8 oz bottles (2 in the morning and one before bed) and I was freaking out. She usually drinks 4-5 8oz bottles a day. I guess I read her post wrong about 2 oz, I thought she meant food not formula. Sorry.
I am new here, and I try not to post when I don't know. And I haven't started my baby on solids cause my pedi told me to just wait till 6 mo so that's what I'm doing. But once I do I know I'll ask the right way to do it cause I have no idea! Sorry again guys I didn't realize it was a little amount of formula. I'll admit when I'm wrong!

I too thought it was a typo....who would only feed their baby 2 oz? I hope she called another doctor and got a second opinion. I wouldn't think any doctor would say only 2 oz is enough for a baby.
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

That is the way with the internet. I have been on several boards and it is the same everywhere. An OP asks a question then gets mad when they don't get the answers they are looking for. It really makes you confused as to why the poster was asking a question in the first place. It turns out to be that the OP was mainly making a statement then asking a question.
The best you can do is just give your advice and if they don't take it....oh well.
