I'm in the middle of researching breast pumps and was looking to get some input/opinions from Mom's who have. I am very nervous about buying the wrong brand, or worse, buying one that hurts. From my research I think that the Dr. Brown's pump seems the best and I like that I can use Dr. Browns bottles, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?
Re: Breast Pumps
The pump that I see recommended the most often, and the pump that I have myself and really like, is the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. I honestly haven't heard of many people having the Dr. Brown pump, although tons of people (myself included) use the bottles. I pump into the Medela bottles that came with my pump. Then I usually pour the milk into a freezer bag to add to my stash. If I am going to use the milk later that day, I use the screw on closed cap and keep the milk in my fridge, then pour into the Dr. Brown's bottle an hour or so before I'm ready to feed LO (so the milk can get to room temp). No need to pump directly into the bottles that you're going to use to feed, especially since you probably will store the milk for awhile before using it.
THe other brand I have heard good things about is the Ameda Purely Yours. But the Medela PISA is great!
