Sigh, UTI

No advice needed, just need to vent. I've been feeling a little out of sorts lately, but thinking it was largely to do with the warming weather and growing baby. I've had a lot of pressure in my pelvis area. Well, today, it hurt enough for me to make a call to my OB. I'm thinking UTI. They are going to see me tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I went to my work's healthcare clinic (how awesome is it that my work has this?!).  They did a dip, and it came back showing I am dehydrated, high white blood cells, and +1 protein (30 mg).  All of this is "normal" for a UTI, so they're starting me on Augmentin (an Amoxycillin mix) tonight.  Then I'll see my OB tomorrow.  OB will likely do another dip, and send to the lab as well.  And they will decide whether to treat me for 3 or more days.

*sigh*  Oh, my BP was "high" too, well, higher than normal after walking to the clinic in the warm weather. 130/80.  They measured again before I left, and it was 110/70, my normal range.

I suppose I continue drinking water like a fiend, and appreciate that my instincts always serve me well when deciding whether or not to call the doc.  Hope you're all having a better day. ;)

I hope you feel better soon! Cranberry juice helped with my last UTI.

  • Agh, I'm sorry. I am actually sitting here debating calling my OB for the same reason. I've got a lot of pressure and feel like I'm having trouble pushing out the urine, but I can't remember if it's normal or not once baby's head down...

How far along are you? I'm 31 plus 3. When is it normal for baby to be head down? Either way I'm glad I got it checked!

31 today. Baby's been head down for a few weeks now. Confirmed on ultrasound I could tell right away because the pressure really intensifies. But I don't remember having issues peeing, other than goin more frequently, with DD.

Wow, good to know! It's some wonder babies don't have a permanent head rush being down for so long. Lol...
