We are currently getting third opinions about my hip surgery. One specialist is recommending conventional replacement and the other is suggesting hip resurfacing. It's not a clear cut decision due to other medical problems I have and possible complications. It is a serious decision.
My mother knows about what I am going through. She tells me to check my email b/c she has some information for me.
She sent me articles about lifestyle changes, fad diets, magnetic water & bedding and homeopathic remedies. She wishes that I would have listened to her years ago b/c I could have prevented this. She thinks I should just try some of these methods in hopes of avoiding surgery.
And no, my mother does not know the meaning of good intentions or having her heart in the right place. She wants me to think about what effect a rough and long recovery will have on her grandchildren. There are a few other gems in there also.
I can't wait to show the email to DH. He's going to laugh himself silly.
Re: LOL @ my mom
I love hearing these kinds of stories. Ty! I'm glad he is doing better.
my dad's hip replacement healed very nicely and quickly. very similar to others he has had on back/neck etc. he's doing awesome with it/them (had the other one done too), and it greatly improved his pain and function level!
sorry for lack of caps, one handed typing
Good Luck with whatever option you choose!!
Something about it helping the absorption of minerals and allowing the body to work more efficiently. I don't know really. I think it can make you fly and turn horses in to unicorns.
Hi sister;) I'm all about natural remedies for certain things, but she needs to be realistic. Like I do acupuncture for very temporary pain relief. She thinks it should be able to cure a genetic disease. She is funny.
Oh definitely. I made that mistake once. I had a botched surgery on a nerve in my arm years ago. Lesson learned. That's why I am taking my time with this decision.
