As of this morning I am fed up with MF inserts! I've had mold issues in the past, found and corrected the problem and things have been great since. This morning however I noticed my inserts are starting to get moldy again. So frustrating. I wash very 1-2 days and leave the lid off my dp. Are MF inserts just more prone to things like this or is it just me? My pockets and prefolds are just fine. I think I'll just start stuffing with my prefolds, I hate the way MF feels anyhow, and how everything sicks to it. But what should I do with them, I don't really want to just throw them in the garbage.
Re: What to do with MF inserts??
Same here. I like to use a newborn mf and then a hemp or bamboo insert in my pockets together and it works really well. I am on a swap site and you can definitely sell the microfiber, depending on quality and brand I have seen them being sold from a quarter up to $1.25 a piece.
Yep! Then I dry them a little more just cause now I'm paranoid. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong!
I do it right away. The only time I might not is if we are out. I sometimes just put it in the wet bag all together and then as soon as we get home I empty it in the dp and remove the inserts then. It's never more than a few hours, is that long enough to cause mold?
Nope. Maybe you just have bad inserts??
I recommends alva baby 3 layer bamboo inserts. My LO got away with one of them till she is now 9 months and still sometimes can. We usually use 2 in her pockets and never have leakage. They are extremely thin and absorbant. Or I really like Joey bunz hemperoo inserts. I seperate them and use one of those behind one 3 layer bamboo insert. Cottonbaby has them and does free shipping.
