Cloth Diapering

Newbie Question

Hey ladies! I have what may seem like a silly question, but I'm a FTM, getting ready to prep my fluff, and I have a couple washing questions.

First, since it's my first time washing them, do I need to do a pre-rinse? Everytime? (I have some natural fiber inserts I need to wash more than once before use)

Second, for my shells and AIO's, do I need to wash the "lighter" colors separate from the "darks" the first couple of times? Like you do with regular clothes so the colors won't bleed?

Lastly, is it ok to wash my cloth wipes with my dipes for prepping purposes? Or should I just pre wash those with my own towels or tees?

Sorry if these are trivial questions, I just don't want to mess up my dipes before I even start!

The pre-rinse is to get poop and pee off the dipes so it's unnecessary to do when prepping.

I washed all my colors together and didn't have a bleeding issue on either my covers or inserts.

You can prep your wipes with your other natural fabrics.  I upcycled a flannel sheet so I just washed on hot with no detergent to strip any old detergent.

    Thank you very much!
