Bumgenius leaking up back at night?

Hi all, I'm new to CDing, 3 weeks in and loving it! I do have a bit of a recurring issue - when I put DS (11 weeks) in Bumgenius AIO's at night, he has woken up with the whole back of his sleeper wet. The diaper itself does not appear 'soaked'. I used a BG pocket diaper last night and the same thing occurred. I have no clue what is going on! Anyone dealt with this before? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Could be a fit issue. Assuming your diapers have been prepped, pee is running out the waist before it can be absorbed. You might try making the waist a bit snugger.

But I will say that my DS is a skinny beanpole and I have always had this problem with pockets and AIOs during sleep and naps. And he would wake up mad when his pajamas got soaked. So we switched to fitteds and don't have this problem anymore.

Our daughter wears BG pockets at night. When she slept on her back, we used the large insert with a Thirsties hemp insert.  We never had leaks with the hemp added.

Now that she is a tummy sleeper, we ALSO fold the newborn insert in half and stuff it in the front. Again, no leaks.

So, my advice is to double stuff and/or add a hemp insert!

Thanks! I will try that tonight! I might also pick up some hemp inserts as I keep hearing great things about them!

Make sure the penis is pointing down, and that you have a nice tight fit. If the inserts aren't soaked, better inserts probably won't help.
