New CDer - finding dipes for a little guy

So I'm very new at this.  I ordered the diaper trial from Jillian's Drawers and I've had fun trying the diapers out.  I've tried the bumgenius 4.0 pocket (with snaps), Tots Bots easy fit v3 (pocket i guess?  the insert is attached and you stuff it in the pocket), the kawaii one size pocket, thirsties snap duo all-in-one.

All of them leaked pee except the tots bots.  But I don't think the diapers are bad...I must be doing something wrong?  Either my little guy's legs are too skinny still (he's 3 months and 12lbs 12oz) or I'm not changing as often?  The bumgenius leaked after a nap and I only had the thinner insert in there and it had been 3 hrs.  Any tips on what I should be doing so I don't have leaks?  Or any diapers that are best for little guys?

My 3 m/o DS needs the thick insert, as well as at least one (preferably 2) of the newborn inserts in his BG 4.0s. And that's changing 2-3 hrs. 4

It sounds less like a fit issue, and more like an absorbency issue. LO likely needs a different or an additional insert for longer stretches like naps and ON.

Definitely only the "thinner insert" (i.e., newborn insert) is not enough for a 3 month old for 3 hours in terms of absorbency.

Also, as always, I will advocate for sized diapers on a very young infant over OS as they just fit better.

Thanks ladies. Sounds like my problem is that I just need to use the tthicker insert and make sure to change more frequently. My prob is I'm never exactly sure when he's going to choose to do his long nap! We're still on an on demand feeding schedule and that affects his nap schedule too.
