Work Time After Work

Coming up in June, my work has a team at Relay for Life. DH will be out of town that night so I decided to sign me and DS up so we wouldn't just be sitting at the house.. plus I love getting to show DS off! The walking starts at 6. DS is normally down by 8:30 to 9:30. Would you leave by 8:00 to get home and do bedtime routine or is two hours kinda shorting the company? DS falls asleep in the car so I thought about waiting til 9 since he will be asleep by 9:05 pretty much and that gives me 3 hours of participation. Thoughts?

I don't think it's shorting the company at all.  You have a child who needs to go to bed.  If you want to participate longer, I would suggest hiring a sitter during the walk.

  • I think its great that you are willing to participate in something after work. I am sure that people will appreciate it and will be understanding on whatever time you have to leave to get your little one to bed.

I can't see how old your baby is but with DD, I would bring pjs and let her fall asleep in the stroller. We did this recently and she transitioned back to her crib without a problem.

But if that is not something you want to do, I don't think you are shorting work.
