Yup mother of the year right here. DS1 had ice cream for lunch. I went to the grocery store and got home with a half hour to spare to feed ds1, ds2, and put food away before we needed to leave again to pick up DD from preschool. This was enough time in theory. As i was putting food away ds2 (who apparently has a reach that will rival most Bball division one college players) grabbed a new jar of salsa that landed on the floor and shattered/splattered everywhere. Got it all cleaned up in time to pick up DD (barely)
When DD got home she was looking forward to some birthday cake ice cream cones I had picked up. She always has a snack when she gets home. But DS1 had not ate yet. So rather then fight it, I just killed two birds with one stone. DD got her snack, and DS1 one got a lunch of ice cream cone with sprinkles and blue icing to boot.
They are all napping (dd quiet time) now
Re: Ice cream for lunch?
Randomly enough I actually don't like ice cream. That is why it is my treat of choice for the kids and DH because it wont kill my diet. Salty foods would though.
I am trying to justify it too. DS1 is the pickiest kid in the world so just the fact that he ate anything at all should count for something.
Also thanks for helping me figure out dinner for me tonight: blue icing!!!!!
