Well after the posts on here I finally convinced my husband we are not calling him Casteel, btw thank you, he read the posts and it kind of opened his eyes. However, he still insists that baby's middle name if a boy will be Casteel, but we will not call him by that. Ugh. Well it is a very different middle name, I guess I can get used to it if we don't call him by it.
So the new name (as of now) is Damon Casteel. What do you ladies think of that one? I really hope no one is as obsessed with The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural as we are and no one notices that he will be sort of named after our favorite characters on those shows

Of course, there is the chance that it is a girl, so I can not wait to know so we can for sure have a name. Also, I liked Damon before I ever saw TVD, so he's not being called that because of the show. That one is actual coincidence lol

The Casteel we did get from Castiel from Supernatural tho. Jeez. We look like a bunch of CW freaks probably

But aside from the CW references, How do you ladies like the actual name? I know Casteel is weird but it looks like I'm stuck with it lol. Which is ok because he doesn't like Damon that much and he gave me that since I gave him Casteel

Re: Another try.. Sigh.
I like the name Damon. But isn't Casteel from Supernatural spelled "Castiel?" I did not see your earlier post, so I am not sure if you already said why you have an alternate spelling. What about Damon Cass?
Side note: When I first saw Damon Casteel, it immediately made me think Demon Angel. I might be the only one who thinks this, but it might be something worth considering.
I still feel you should find a first name that you both love. There are soooo many names out there, surely there is 1 boy name you both really like and can agree on. It's nice to see you both trying to compromise with one another though.
Ah! I didn't even think of that. That makes sense, but I don't know that many people know about Castiel being an Angel. And yes it's spelled Castiel, but DH likes Casteel better. So technically that name isn't an angel's name, he found Casteel right beside Castiel on some baby name site and liked Casteel better.
Lol we thought there would be one too. We have searched what feels like every single book and every single website, we cannot agree on anything.
I don't watch Vampire diaries, and I have not watched a show on the CW since Dawson's Creek was canceled, so take that FWIW.
Damon Casteel is totally fine.

Our girl name is Eden
Her middle name will be Simone after my grandmother, we knew that before we even talked about having a baby lol. I wanted different and he wanted biblical so when I saw Eden we were both like yes!
And he likes biblical: Jericho, Judah, Gideon
I like Ian, Jase, Damon, kinda different but not really different. We had agreed on Jase but one of my cousins named their kid that so it didn't work out.
I kinda like Judah but now he is set on this Casteel middle name so if I have to agree on that he can give me one of my names lol :P So we definitely need something that sounds good with Casteel
Haha, well that wont bother me too much. Castiel on Supernatural is pretty cool! I think if our kid is anything like his dad he will probably LOVE that show and will totally dig his middle name. That being said I don't really like Casteel, but DH does. And he is insisting on it, will not change his mind. So I'm kinda stuck. I just have to find the perfect first name to go with it!
Haha believe me I'm the same way! I was just telling him this morning that I hope it's a girl just for the name's sake haha
I like Damon and strange enough it makes the Casteel seem better..
Thank you
I agree with all of this.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of Damon Casteel. Damon is just okay and seems kind of trendy. Not a fan of Casteel at all.
Eden Simone is such a beautiful name, that I'm almost disappointed hearing your boy pick. Here's hoping you have a girl!
I do like your pick of Ian. What about Isaac, Ezra, Caleb?
That's just it, we can not find ANYTHING that seems as good as Eden to me. It's SOOOO frustrating. I'm not a fan of Casteel either but DH is being stubborn and HAS to have it. I wish we could just know and hopefully it is a girl and we can forget all this boy name business. And if it is a boy he might just be Baby Moore for the rest of his life haha
You shouldn't have to "get used to" your child's name. It should be a name that you both love.
I think that Damon is fine, but Casteel is just plain awful.
I hope that you're having a girl because Eden Simone is such a beautiful name!
Seriously? You can't find any names that you both love?

Lol really we can't. We have searched and searched and he doesn't like anything I like and I don't like anything he likes. Before I got the BFP we had agreed on Elijah Shane (DH's first name is Shane) and thought well our kids can have all the same initials, E.S.M., but after I became pregnant I thought well I don't want ppl to call him Eli, but DH still liked it. Then a couple of weeks ago I thought well if we call him Elijah and never say Eli then people will get the hint, so I started liking it a lot again, and now DH is like well Elijah Casteel doesn't sound good together, and I wanted to slap him and shake his shoulders and say CASTEEL SUCKS but I love him too much so I just sighed and kept on lol
I know it's not pronounced the same, he liked the Casteel way better. He thought Castiel isn't really a real person's name (And I guess Casteel is I have no idea).
Then my only advice would be to table the name discussion for a while. How far along are you? If you are going to find out the gender, then I would wait and have the boy name discussion when you know you're having a boy. If you find out it's a girl, there are no issues and you're stressing over nothing.
FWIW I love Elijah and love the nn Eli. Sounds like your tastes evolve quite often if you both liked Elijah, then didn't, now do. So I would wait and see if you come across another name you like. Keep up with this board and you may see a post that has a new one you hadn't heard before. GL!
Damon Casteel definitely made me think demon-angel. I go straight to the CW. Then I get the impression that you are a major fangirl, and that you can't spell, despite Castiel being a major character, whom you apparently like enough to name a child after.
I do know that those things aren't true, based on your responses to the posts here, but those are my first impressions.
I don't like the look or pronunciation of Casteel. Castiel is marginally better, but I would only use it as a mn, or as a fn with nn Cas. It's too Old Testament/angelic for a real person.
Damon is a good name if the mn has no ties to religion, scifi or other fandoms.
I like Elijah Shane a lot, and Eli is a cute nn that grows well. Damon Shane?
Love Eden Simone.
Well I guess we will go back to the drawing board. Maybe we will discuss Elijah Shane again. I really don't like Eli for a nn tho, I would rather just use the full name the whole time. Who knows tho, maybe when he is born he will be an Eli lol.
On a good note, I'm glad we have a girls name that everyone loves
Thanks for the opinions, look for another topic once we decide on something else :P
The bold. Thumbs up.
Yeah, I'm sorry, I think it's crazy that you dislike the name and your husband is genuinely REFUSING to compromise at all? Scrap everything and try again, there shouldn't be that much compromise to the point where you might have name regret.
