Do you soak your toddler's overnight diapers or just put them in with the rest of the diapers?
I'm having potential issues with my newborn's diapers repelling. (Using Tide powder, soft water, having to do multiple extra rinses to get all the suds out.) I assumed I needed less detergent - so I'm using about 2 tbsp now.
Now I'm also finding that my preschooler's overnight inserts have that "barnyard" stink. It's mainly the hemp and cotton inserts that are a problem. I just pulled one out to rewash, while the rest of my CD laundry smells perfectly clean.
Do you think soaking the overnight inserts would help? Can I leave them to soak for more than a day?
Re: Toddler/Preschool overnight diapers
Thanks! I'm thinking I didn't have trouble before DD3 was born because I threw a full load of towels or sheets in with my 3 overnight diapers and was able to use a regular amount of detergent that way.
Do you add detergent when soaking?

Ditto this. I've had to soak DD's ON fitteds every morning for over 6 months now. Otherwise I just cannot get enough pee out in the wash.
