I am super late to the party, but DS just got his first tooth and oh my God I'm paying the price. He used to bite down at the end of the nursing session, now it's at the beginning. I had to give him a bottle tonight because OW. What do you do to stop the biting? He thinks it's super funny when I say NO.
Re: Freaking nipple biter!
How long do you put her down for? Like a few minutes or longer?
I had a biter for a bit (he has 6 teeth right now and is working on a couple more, yikes!) and it didn't work to say "no" because he'd get scared and cry. So I just had to be a bit more vigilant and when he started to slow down/stop eating, I had my pinkie at the ready to break the latch. It would happen when he was mostly bored, but it was just a phase, and it did pass. It sucked though, I used to fear nursing him sometimes!
Usually just a couple of minutes and then we try again. If she bites again I put her down for slightly longer. I make sure she gets enough, but I won't let her constantly bite me.
