is the radian better than the marathon?

I've been doing tons and tons of research on convertible carseats..It seems that while the Britax Marathon is very popular and people like it a lot more people are loving the diono radian rxt...Money isn't an issue for us with this but I found a great deal on the radian anyway and can get it for 191 on kohls.com. 

Am I making the right choice going with the radian over the marathon?

I don't have either but I think I remember people on this board saying good things about that seat.

From what I've read, both are equally safe seats.  The biggest difference is how narrow the radian seats are.  A lot of mom's of multiples recommend them, since some need to fit 3 across their backseats.  We will get the radians so that we can fit 2 car seats + a passenger in our car for times we need to.  My friend has these seats, so I've seen them in action and know I'll be happy with them.  They carry them at Buy Buy Baby if you want to see one before buying it.

We got the RXT because it doesn't expire for 10 years, it goes up to 45 pounds rear facing and it's a booster up to 120 pounds. It's top rated among other carseats and you're able to fit 3 across because it's so slim.

So, IMO, yes it's so much better than the marathon.

I love our Radian.  As others have mentioned it is narrow and can RF much longer than most.  We were given a Marathon and while it is ok, I really love the lower profile of the Radian.  It is so much easier for me to get my son in and out of that seat.  We use the Radian in my car (Subaru Outback) as that is the one we use the most and the Marathon is in my husband's truck.
