DS1 went into his convertible seat at 9 months, but it was really only because we were flying around the 8 month mark and we wanted to use the infant seat when we flew. DS2 is a bigger boy, and he looked so squished in his infant seat that we finally switched DS1 to the Graco Nautilus this weekend and moved the Britax Marathon rear facing for DS2. DS2 is 7 1/2 months.
And now I'm afraid to leave the house with both kids alone because it's going to be that much harder. Ugh. I'm sort of wishing I stuck it out with the infant seat longer.
Who else switched over?
Re: Is everyone transferring LO to convertible seat?
DS born 9/25/12
DS #2 due 6/13/16
we have Chicco keyfit 30 as shower gift...we are ok for a little while longer I guess by July we are going to be in the market for a new seat...
he's 17pounds and it goes to 30 pounds
Length is also 30 inches and he is at 22inches
oh yeah we've stopped taking car seat out of the car in March...we just take him out:)
I swear that the scale at the last check up was off because they said DD is only 16 lbs...she was 14 over 2 months ago and she feels soooo much heavier than that appointment.
I'm already at my strength limit with the infant carrier. If I don't have to take it out I just take her out. DH is starting to feel it too. We moved the seats to the side because going to the middle was just impossible for my back. I don't know when to switch to be honest. 30 lbs isn't happening with that carrier.

Our IVF miracle, Baby Boy M, arrived on 11/8/2012!
We switched DS when he was approaching six months. He's a long and big baby and was close to outgrowing the infant carrier seat. Plus, it was SO heavy.
Strategies for grocery stores is that I park next to the shopping cart carousel so I can just plop him in the cart when we get there, and it makes it easy for pulling him out and putting LO back in to the car.
