My daughter is going to be 10 months on Thursday. She doesn't crawl, doesn't get up on all 4's, doesn't scoot, nothing. She can creep backwards but it's not intentional or goal-directed.
She also doesn't pull herself up. She will stand and play at her play table if we stand her up, but she's nervous. If I try to stand her up in her crib she might do it, but she often clenches her fists and refuses to hang on to the bar.
Although she is capable of rolling, she doesn't roll to get places and only recently started rolling on her belly to sleep.
Cognitively she seems fine. She says a few words, is very loving and sweet, has mild stranger anxiety, loves to play with people and animals. I'm just worried about the motor skills.
I've always been very concerned about how stiff she seems. Her muscles seem somewhat clenched. I've brought it up to the Dr. (who I really do like) and I got the old "all babies develop differently" speech.
Is everyone else's baby crawling and pulling up to stand? I know some are probably walking!!!!
Re: I know I shouldn't ask..but...
I have a developmental checklist we used as a guideline before moving the babies up to the one year old class. Maybe it will help you determine if you need a second opinion or if she's doing more than you realize. If you want it I will glady post it or send it to you.
But yes every baby is different and will do everything on their own time
Please post it! Thank you! And I think it's a valid point that she is probably doing more than I realize. It's just so hard not to worry!
I can email it...its to big to copy. Send me pm with your emails
ETA: it's 5 pages
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."
Ok it's a little smushed up but here you go. If you still want it as a .doc file I can email it to you also.

My son has been getting on all fours for about a month and then one day he crawled.
So, when I saw my daughter wasn't getting anywhere or even going up on all fours, i got concerned. Then, 1 week after my son started crawling, she did too (out of nowhere).
She was about 10+ months when this happened. She cannot pull herself up yet and she is almost 11 months. I am not concerned.
But, if you see the stiffness like you say, you might want to get a second opinion. Some PT may help with that.
This LO has been crawling, pulling up and cruising for a while now but only really babbles. I'm sure he will walk before his siblings did. As long as your pedi isn't worried I wouldn't be either. If it really bothers you, you can always call to have early intervention come out to do a referral, it's free and they will evaluate if your LO needs services. Good luck!
I have twins and one will roll over but nothing else, not standing crawling getting on fours. The other won't even roll over.
They are getting evaluated by early intervention this coming Tuesday. My led suggested it and it does worry me.
The one that rolls will say Dada and some other babble sounds the one that does not roll , does not say much.
So you are not alone.
You knows you can cal your state's early interventipn program even if your doctor does not think you need to.
Good luxk
