I just found out that my childhood friend's father died. He lived a year longer than they had projected (he had cancer), but it was still a shock. He was a very involved member of the community, in Boy Scouts and his wife's Girl Scouts troop, of which I was a member for 10 years, marching band, the church, and many other groups. He and his wife were high school sweethearts; he wasn't even 60 years old. T&P for the family, if you can spare them.
