So... It's Sunday already here and thus it's Mother's Day. Hopefully this post won't cause jealousy or envy... But I'm curious what did you get for Mother's Day? Was it what you were expecting or had asked for? Are you happy with what you got?
I got a manderine tree [the same age as LO], some potted daisies, and a key wallet. Oh and a painted ornamental tree with photos from LO via daycare.
I didn't ask for these things, nor would I as I'm a bit of a black thumb [as opposed to green], but it's nice to have presents still and I'm looking forward to having colourful flowers and yummy fruit at other times that I can remember came from this Mother's Day.
I am not expecting DH to remember it is Mother's Day, let alone think of getting me something because I am not his mom. I told him this 2nd hand massage chair I wanted to get from a garage sale facebook group could be my mother's day present, and he probably thought no more about it after that.
Edit: Well, after I reminded him the next day was Mother's Day and he acted like he already remembered, I got a card from him and Rob, muffins for breakfast, and flowers. I had also suggested that he get up with Rob in the morning, which he had never done in his life, so he got up with him, changed his diaper, made him a bottle, brought him to me, and then fell back asleep. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Happy Mother's Day! When I came home from work last night, DH has LO all day and made me a card. It had LO's handprints and footprints. There was a little note on the top that said I am the best mommy and he loves me so much. Couldn't have asked for something better. It's perfect! And totally unexpected!
I'm actually surprised I got something last night because we had travelled out of town Friday night and I thought there was no way he remembered to bring anything. But he says, "You didn't really think I'd forget your first Mothers Day, did you?" So I got a super sweet card and a Loves Embrace necklace from Kay's, representing me and LO. It's beautiful! Anddd he's in charge of LO completely today. If I want to do something with LO I can but if not I don't have to. Should be a great day!
My husband said Happy Mothers Day after I got up with Mira for the second time last night. Then he followed it up with I didn't get you anything bc we don't have any money. I had told him there were lots of things I'd like that are free like sleeping in. Well now Mira's up for the day and guess who's not sleeping in. He better do something nice before this day is over.

Cajun Here's to hoping out husbands develop some new creative brain cells before this day ends. I hate that he's using our lack of money as an excuse to not do anything. We've been poor for years it's not like he hasn't had time to think about nice free things to do. Ok vent over I'm going to hug Mira and call my mom.
I'm feeling pretty grateful for my husband's efforts today, I gotta say.
I got to sleep in while he took the kids to get us all bagels. When I got up we had a nice late breakfast and I got two cards, roses, some hand print art (daddy and kids), a canvas bag (daycare and Owen), and my husband booked me a massage for next weekend. We played and hung out and then they all went out to give me some alone time and then they brought me lunch and took naps. I haven't wiped a little butt all day. It's been glorious and SO restorative! Mother's Day really needs to happen more than once a year!
No gifts from DH or LO, but it was a pretty nice day. Spent the night down at my folks and E slept until 5 am, so yay longer sleep stretch. My mom made Swedish pancakes for breakfast in honor of me, we had our 9m photo shoot with our photographer, and a lovely early dinner that everyone but me pitched in on.
TheBoy asked as I was falling asleep on the couch last night what I wanted for Mother's Day and I laughed saying it was a little late now. He said he knew, but he had been trying to think all week and hadn't really come up with anything. He's sweet, if a bit incompetent.
His mom on the other hand bought me a sewing machine for my birthday last weekend, so my mother's day gift was a craft box with bobbins, fabric scissors, some fabric cuts, and some kid's clothes patterns. And lucky bamboo. I don't understand the bamboo.
I got to sleep in and it was wonderful! Not as long as I'd have liked, but I'll take what I can get. MH also did a combined birthday/mother's day gift and when I have a day off he's going to get me a hotel room for the night that I'll get to go to alone. For the whole night. And sleep in. I can't wait.

I was going to try ask for that but realised DH would never agree...

Wait, you're wiping your own right? That would be a strange mother's day request...
I had the same exact morning.
