There is something really charming to me about the name Cody. I think it's because I've always known the name but never actually known a Cody.
I SUPER dislike Coden though. Is this traditionally what Cody is short for? It sounds like the name of a software company, not a little boy. Code is not a good nickname, it seems so weird. Like security code, secret code, code word, etc.
I like Nathan far more than Coden. Nathaniel can be nice too. Nickname Nate is nice. Go for Nathan James.
We did sort of "make up" Coden. If we went the Cody route, we wanted to give him the option to change it up as he got older (if Cody is too cutesie). We like that it's more unique than Nathan, but we DO of course love the name Nathan!

I love the name Nathan! I don't care for Coden. Cody is NMS...I think it sounds perpetually juvenile and I have a hard time picturing a grown man with that name.
Cody is childish and anyone I've had in class has always been in trouble. Coden is made up, at least you admitted it.
Nathan is a great strong name that ages well.

Someone mentioned Code as a nickname, and I've known older men to do this.
This is just one example, but I have some relatives that are four Codys in a row.
Will.iam C.ody Lastname----he was my great-grandma's age---he went by Code
Will.iam C.ody Lastname II----he went by Bill

Nathan for sure.
There is no 'formal' name for Cody. I don't know wth Coden is, but it is NOT good.
No competition, Nathan with nn Nate.
