bleeding hiney :(

Gibson's, not mine!  I changed him when he got up from his nap and he had pooped so I wiped him and he started crying...I saw a little blood on the wipe so I spread his cheeks (oh, the things we do as mothers!) and there were a few little spots where he was bleeding.  I put some CJ's on it, hopefully that will help.  I feel so bad for him!  He hasn't had any new foods lately and our laundry routine is the same as it's been for months.  Any ideas?  It's red down there but no real rash to speak of.

Was it a hard BM? Can you give him some prunes or prune juice or pears to make his BM's softer?

It was pretty squishy...I don't know how to put this nicely...it wasn't around his anus but the skin around it.  He has been hitting the bananas pretty hard lately...

Could he possibly be teething? I know my DD was getting rashes that made her bottom raw when she was that age.

The nurse at his pedi's office said it's probably from teething.  She had me mix a concoction of Lotrimin, A&D ointment, liquid Mylanta and hydrocortisone and said to apply it 3-4x a day...and to use Neosporin before I put the other stuff on.  He's in sposies until it clears up.  If there isn't improvement by tomorrow, he has to be seen because they're worried about the possibility of infection.

Logan had the same thing when he had his yeast rash. Not sure if it was part of it or he just happened to have it at the same time. The antifungal cream got rid of it though.

It looks about the same this morning and on top of that, he also has a fever of 102.5   We're going to the pedi at 1.  I just hope the fever is from teething and not an infection!
