Talk to me about formula poop

I've been EBF since LO was born (almost 6 weeks), but have struggled with supply issues.  I'm now having to supplement.  So far I've been using my breast milk stash but I'm going to run out soon and will have to switch to formula.  I know I can't just throw poopy diapers in the wash anymore once the switch happens.  What do I do to clean them prior?  Would you recommened a diaper sprayer at this point?  Is a dunk and swish sufficient?  How "clean" do they need to be?

You can put them in the wash just like EBF poops. as long as you aren't feeding solids, formula and breast milk poops are the same: water soluble.

Really?  I could have sworn I had cloth mamas tell me formal poop wasn't water soluable... I'm kind of excited to hear I don't need to start the dunk and swish just yet!

You are not the only one!  I have heard this as well but learned differently here.

They speak the truth. You can just put it in the wash. However, formula poop stinks. For that reason I always put what I could in the toilet before it went in the pail. I never sprayed the diapers and we never has any issues.

Ditto this. The one thing I noticed with DD's poop when she was getting more formula than BM is that her poop started to stink. We sprayed the poop (or used a flushable liner) just because I hated the smell.
