Thirsties duo diapers leaking

My 12 week old son is long and skinny. We just started using Thirsties duo diapers (not pockets or aios) because they have a gusset and we heard they were good for skinny babies.  The gusset fits around his leg but the leg hole is still a bit big so urine and poop has leaked out a few times, even with the duo insert. Any suggestions or do I have to wait to use these until his thighs fatten up a bit more? Any diapers anyone can suggest in the meantime that may work? I am guessing he's around 11 pounds now.

Best Bottoms AI2 are much smaller and tighter around the legs. You could buy a few and use the thirsty inserts you already have.

Another rec for Best Bottoms! My son is the same: about 11 lbs and super skinny legs. BB's fit him without ANY leaks at 4 weeks when he was like 8 lbs!

I'm confused, I thought the duo diaper was a pocket? I'm new to CDs so I dunno! But I will throw in that I've had issues with Thirsties leaking out the top with my LO. He's a boy so his diapers are always front heavy, I think the rise was too short and he needed to step up to the size 2. We'll see once they get here! Mine is a chunker so he never leaks out the legs. GL!
