Waking & wanting binky

This behavior is getting just plain annoying.

(I am not sure if this is similar to Pandril's post)

My kids keep waking up a million times during the night and "cranky" crying.  All they want is their binky put back in.  Last night is was between 6-10 times (both kids combined).  When (what age) are they going to just look for their own binky?

I really never wanted to do CIO for fear that they will wake up the other child.

Kellen needs his in order to get back to sleep most of the time as well. We solved the issue by putting TONS in his crib for a few nights and refusing to go in there and find one for him. He fussed sometimes a good 30 minutes the first few nights until he got the hang of finding them. Now he is usually fine with 4 or 5 pacis in his crib and it might take like 30 secs to find one. We also get the glow in the dark kind (I think they are by NUK) to make it easier to find them. Sometimes I watch him on the monitor feel around in his sleep with his eyes still closed until he finds one and then he passes right back out.

Maybe you could toss like 10 of them in there for a couple nights and let them fuss/cry until they find one instead of you going in and "replugging"? Good luck!

Shayne will look for his now, we put him to bed with 3 pacifiers and before I go to bed I place them on either side of his head and usually one at the other end since he often moves around. Do your kids use soothies?

we use something very similar to the soothies, i forget what brand.

I think i will definitely have to try this ladies, thanks!

Even though it says 6 months and under, Addie still uses a wubbanub because she can easily find and replace it herself. We keep two in bed with us.

This. Except DS only keeps one in the crib and even though he moves all over the crib now he still manages to keep it by his side and find it easily.

  • Cooper ends up with like 4 pacis in or around his crib. Maybe keep a stockpile in the crib so they can plug themselves back up.
