I never knew anything about this when we were at an inhome. But I also gave much different Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentine's gifts that I will do at our day care center.
I am not, and my son's preschool isn't doing anything special either.
DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
I am a teacher myself and I know what a thankless job it can be no matter what the age of your students. It is always nice to be recognized. I sent an edible arrangements fruit basket to my daughters in home day care. They were very appreciative, in fact the thank you message I got from all her teachers made meant to cry. I still to this day remember the parents who took the time to give me thanks in any form.
