c section scheduling?

If any of you had a scheduled c section already, do they do it on the Exact date your Dr says?

i.e. if it was to be scheduled for 39 weeks, is it to the day, or a few days before or a few after?? 

My Dr gave the receptionist the go ahead to call and schedule mine for 39 weeks but im wondering what the chances are of it being right on the day I turn 39 weeks.

Mine is scheduled for Monday. I'll be 38 weeks 1 day. Since my 38 weeks is a Sunday they scheduled it for the next day.

I didn't have a csection but I did have a scheduled induction. When it got closer to the end my doctor Gabe me a few choices of days and then she had to call to check the hospitals schedule for those dates. I think it just depends on how many things they have scheduled. Good luck!

I turn 38 weeks on a Saturday and they don't do cs on weekends at my hospital. So my ob tried scheduling for the following Monday and the O.R. was booked until wed! And I didn't help because I wanted first in the morning.
So, I'm 38 weeks on June 29 and am scheduled for July 3rd. I didn't even think about how it had to be organized with operating room availability.

I wanted a certain ob from my MFM/OB group to do the c/s, so we scheduled for when he could get the OR, after 36w. We ended up at 36w2d.

I had an induction scheduled, and we scheduled it for the day that the more experienced doctors would be on call. It was supposed to be a 36 w induction, but we scheduled for 36w3d. Never made it though!

I had a scheduled c-section at 39w2d with my son and have another on the calendar for 38w3d with my twins.  When my doctor says "we'll schedule it at X weeks," he means he won't (or can't) schedule it BEFORE X weeks, and ideally it will happen close to that date.

My Doctor said to schedule mine for 37 weeks. When I went to the Surgical Scheduler she booked it for when I'll be 37w 2d because that's the earliest date after I pass 37 weeks that my Doctor will be in the OR.

My OB scheduled mine for 38 weeks to the day even though it is a Saturday. They don't want me going a day past 38 weeks and if I waited for when they are on duty at the hospital I would be 38 weeks 4 days. My OB's office called an scheduled.

Did you have more then one option, or was it like, THIS is it... and thats that?

I was told I would be scheduled between week 36 and 37 (medical reasons) and I got scheduled for 36w2d. I was told that if the date was unacceptable for some reason, I could switch it, but I might end up with a different doctor.

Originally I was told by my OB that I would be scheduled for 38 weeks. She schedules C-sections on Wednesdays and Thursdays which would have been 38 weeks exactly (on Wed) or 38w1d (on Thurs). I told her I preferred Wed. so her nurse called L&D at the end of the appointment and set the specific time for my C-section. She also gave me my C-section order form with instructions on where to check in, what time to get there etc. At my last appointment OB told me they are now going to do a C-section at 37 weeks due to my high BP. She looked at her calendar and figured out when 37 weeks fell and noted it in my chart (I think) but nobody from her office actually scheduled it with the hospital. I think that's because I have an MFM appointment Monday to check blood flow to the chord and things could change based on those results.

I had a scheduled induction, but I asked about it at one of my weekly appts and the OB and I talked to the scheduler right then in the office and agreed on a date and time.

My OB wanted to plan my c-section for 38 or so weeks. The actual day was based on what day she was at the hospital (Wednesday). The MFM ended up moving my c-section up by a week, and it was again scheduled for the Wednesday to accommodate my OB's schedule.
