I have a daughter that was CD exclusively with prefolds and thirsties covers. I wanted to know if I need to know anything special about cloth diapering my son that will be here in a few months. Are prefolds and thirsties typically okay for boys?
This time, we want to invest in a few AIO, just for the ease of the grandparents when babysitting. Any brands better/worse than others?
I can't believe I CD for 2.5 years, but I feel like I am starting over again lol
Re: Boys vs Girls
My DS is only 5 weeks old, but so far we've used just prefolds and covers (thirsties duos are my fav). Not sure how it compares to a girl, but we've had no problems and I don't think we're doing anything special.
The same brands and types typically work for boys and girls. If you have extra material to fold down, such as a prefold, it's typically a good idea to put more in the front for pee since they can pee higher.
If you want to use the gender difference as an excuse to buy some different cute patterns though, don't let us stop you.

I agree with PP about just making sure any extra absorbancy is put in the front.
Though if you plan to circumcise, you might want to ask these ladies for advice on how to care for that without getting vaseline all over your CDs.
Good point! I didn't even think about that.
