We are going for a week and have been there a couple times. Weve done the zoo and Arizona Science Center. Any other "must do" / "must see" things in the Phoenix area?
The children's museum is awesome. My boys also love the Arizona Museum of Natural History....they have a lot of dinosaur stuff. Depending on when you come and if your kids are into it a sporting event is usually always happening. DS1 likes baseball. There is also the wildlife world zoo which is different than the Phoenix zoo. What time of year are you coming? Sedona is not a far drive and they have some fun hikes if your kids like that.

We will be there in a few weeks!!!
We did Sedona last year. Spent a day on the trails. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'll have to look into some of your other suggestions. Looks great! Thank you!
My kids love the McCormick train park in Scottsdale, there is a train you can ride around the park and a carousel as well. I second the Children's Museum and World Wildlife Zoo. WW Zoo has a BBQ place that you can eat at (even if you do not go to the zoo) where you can eat right by the shark tank or next to the flamingos. If you really like to hike, DH and I went to Prescott and hiked around Watson Lake, there was a nice easy path that went right next to it. My in-laws just got back from Tuscon and they did the air museum down there. They said it was really neat and there were lots of kids there that loved it. Apache Jct area has an old western town that we use to go to as kids growing up where you can pan for gold and such. Have fun, hopefully our weather will not be too hot for you and you are staying somewhere with a good pool.
In addition to everything listed, if the weather is nice out I really like the Desert Botanical Garden. Sometimes on weekends they have events that are great for kids, but even if not it is fun to just walk around and have lunch. It is right next door to the zoo.
