another plane question...sorry...

I booked our flights, but nowhere did it ask for DS's information, or even if we were travelling with an infant.  It asked for the number of passengers over the age of two, and our names/DOBs.  DS is going to be sitting on our lap, but I assumed for legal reasons they would still need his information so they know who's on board if there was an accident.  Is this normal, or do I need to contact them?

Re: another plane question...sorry...

  • When my mom and I flew with LO she was 10 months old and my mom calledthe airline to tell them and they said we needed to bring her official birth certificate. They amended my ticket at the airport check in and attached a young child ticket to mine.

  • all of the above...i flew with DS1 and had to just contact the airline. some will have that on their site to allow you to add lap kids but some don't.

good luck! hope the flight goes well

  • We flew on Southwest and just had to show either DS's birth certificate or immunization record at the Customer Service counter when we checked in.  I didn't have to contact the airline ahead of time.  The customer service rep stapled DS's boarding verification document to my ticket.

  • Who are you flying with?  I fly united all the time and they ask for all that information when you check in online for the flight.

This.  We fly Southwest with DS often.  However, I believe we have to enter his information when booking, and then you have to check in with an employee of the airline who prints a "non-ticketed lap child" boarding pass and staples it to my boarding pass.

  • We flew United and I remember they asked if we had a lap child when we booked. We bought his own seat so I had to enter his info. He has a passport so I just brought that with us.
