Im at the Kansas Governors Public Health Confrence for work. I manage a family planning clinic. One of my lectures today was car seat safety. It was basically the only interesting lecture I had today
Anyway the speaker was talking about how people complain about how cars are made now-a-days and ppl think that cars aren't made like they used to be. That you could be in a fender-bender and end up totally squishing your car and totaling it. WELL...the reason is that cars are made now for driver safety and not for vehicle durability. Like back in the old days the cars frames would hold up well in a collision BUT the driver took all the impact, which caused alot of more severe injuries. Now the vehicles are built to buckle and be safer for the driver.
I found this super interesting...I had never even thought about it that way. I too just thought vehicles were made with cheaper material for cost and lighter material for fuel economy.
