Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Baby all of a sudden spitting up a LOT more!

He isn't fussy and doesn't have any rashes, but is spitting up a lot more lately... Sometimes it is cleary/watery and sometimes it contains curdled milk (he is exclusively breastfed)... He burps 1-3 times after being fed, so I know it isn't really gas... also can be up to 2 hours after feeding?

Could he be teething (he constantly has his hands in his mouth)? or could it still be food allergy? It is just concering b/c I am trying to get him to sleep through the night and every ounce counts!

Re: Baby all of a sudden spitting up a LOT more!

  • How old is LO?  The peak age is 3-4 months for spitting up.  I'm right there with you, DS spits up a ton!
  • My LO's doctor said that they are moving around a lot more, which can cause them to spit up more.  Hope this helps.

  • He is 3 1/2 months... so right at the peak I guess!
  • It's a lot less then it looks like. Take a teaspoon of milk and spash it on the floor and you'll see what I mean.

  • My LO does too. As PP said, it's the age, and my DS seems to spit up more after tummy time or playing and exerting himself.
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!

This. DS is 4 months and he spits up way more then he ever has. He always wants to be up on his feet by us supporting him or in his exersaucer...so I've just assumed his tummy gets all juggled.

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!
