Stretch Marks

Just started getting stretch marks in my last month of pregnancy.  Does anyone know of any good creams, or fading creams that actually help?  I'm not expecting them to ever completely go away, but figure trying something couldn't hurt!  Let me know if any of you have things that you would swear by!

Re: Stretch Marks

  • Focus on moisture. I use coconut oil. They will fade though.

  • I use coconut oil, but just to help with itching and hydrate. There is really nothing to be done for stretch marks. I'm covered. I look like a zebra if I lift up my shirt. Genetic suck sometimes.

  • I've had good luck with Palmer's cocoa butter in the jar (the version formulated for stretch marks). While it doesn't eliminate the marks, it makes them less visible. And it's nice and moisturizing.

Mederma for stretch marks. It helps a ton. Mine looked awesome after a couple weeks after DS was born. They never go away just fade and smooth out.

  • I also use palmer's but I hear bio oil is good as well.

  • I rotate between Bio Oil, Burt's Bees Belly Butter and the Body Shop's body butter in coconut and peach. I am 33 weeks on Thursday and not one stretch mark has cropped up (and I am definitely looking very pregnant - no skinny anything left). The Bio Oil smells pretty good, but I think it's really just using a good moisturizer on a regular basis that makes the difference. Smile

  • I had a ridiculous allergic reaction to bio oil. I would try it on a small section first. Now I use palmers stretch mark creme

I'm almost 39 weeks and my first stretch mark popped up just after 37 weeks. I have faithfully applied cocoa butter, bio oil, coconut oil and even mederma and I now have many. They are very low and light but trust me....moisturizing has NOTHING to do with getting them. It is genetics. Do not be surprised when they pop up towards the very end. These babies do a lot of stretching in the end
  • I used almond oil during my first pregnancy and didn't have any stretch marks...until after he was born. :) I'm very fair so mine are very light.

I never tried any stretch mark removal creams with my first two pgs, but I think I will after this one just to see what happens. I won't be holding my breath though, my mom still has hers. :)

  • I agree with the moisture. I use cocoa butter but I have a lot of stretch marks. Praying they will fade.
  • Mama Mio products are AMAZING. I use the tummy rub oil and they also have a great scar/stretch mark remover. Good luck!
  • I did EVERYTHING under the sun to prevent them...1st pregnancy 36wks I wonke up one morning and there was and explosion of them on my stomach! If it is in the genetics then there isnt much you can do.

I was extra pissed bc My mother and her tiny little self has twins at full term and never got a since stretch mark. I guess it was from my dad's side.

This. I only have a few on my sides from last time but they did fade after I had DS.

  • I use Palmers after every shower. They say that is the best time to apply, I am assuming because your pores are nice and open...none for me yet..praying that they don't appear in the next 26 days!!

  • At night I use a Vitamin E baby oil by the brand Simple Baby. During the day I use Strivectin SD Intensive Concentrate. It smells like peppermint and even helped fade some preexisting stretch marks. It's quite expensive in stores but I found it for $50 on Amazon for a decent size tube. It's worth it!
