Looking for Advice and wanting to say hi...

Firstly, I just want to say that this looks like a great forum for the dads and dads-to-be...hoping I can get my husband on here in the future.

By way of a quick intro: I'm Leilani, and my husband, James, and I have been married for almost 2 years (June) and live in Los Angeles, CA...currently. Both prior active duty military, and we're hoping to go back in after we finish up yet more college.

So, my looking for advice portion:

Recently (February), I miscarried. My husband dealt with the loss through anger and lots and lots of video games. Now, he's no longer playing video games, but I haven't really found a way to sit him down to talk about when we should start to try again. At one point, we had said right away, then a year, and now, I'm not sure what's going on. It seems as though our lives are so consumed with school and my holding down two jobs in the process that we don't have as much time to just talk. If I'm home, he's at school and vice versa with me at school and/or work. We're also looking at moving into our own place at the end of the year. Currently, we're living with my father-in-law, because at the time, neither of us had a job and thus, no income for housing.

How do I let him know that I truly want to figure out when we want to try for another baby? Or should I just wait until he brings it up? I hate having to think that the only way we've been able to communicate lately is a text asking what time the other is finished with whatever for the day...

 Thanks in advance!

Re: Looking for Advice and wanting to say hi...

  • If you can't find the time to even have the conversation to find out when you want to try again, where are you going to find the time to actually try?  Maybe wait until things settle down a tad, then approach the subject.
