Anyone have a broken Coxic Bone planning a natural birth?

I broke my coxic bone about 7 years ago and was told child birth could be painful.

Now at 16 weeks pregnant my doctor said I might need to consider a ceserian since natural could rebreak the bone!!!! Ouch!!

Anyone ever go natural with this issue? Know anyone that did? Any advice?

  • Yes! The end of a tailbone!! Im scared of the extra pain going natural and also super scared the thought of a ceserian...

  • Broke mine about 7 years ago as well. I have had TWO natural births wit NO problems. Don't let them bully you into a c-section. I suggest a good chiro.

  • I broke mine as a child. and i now have  a tail. it goes in and then out. its hard to explain ut its pretty severe and i have posture problems along with being out of alignment because i can't sit normally.

i gave birth twice once naturally and once medicated. and to tell you the truth i don't remember my tail hiring at all. i do recommend not giving birth on back tho. Laying on your side or squatting is easier.

  • I've broken mine several times (twice horseback riding and once drunken innertubing in Colorado), and it's now what they call 'subluxated' or bent at a 90 degree angle inwards. The last time I broke it, the ER doc mentioned I might have problems with it during childbirth. Guess we'll see!

  • For the record, it's coccyx bone.

My cousin broke and dislocated hers during a traumatic birth of her DD.  She went on to have a perfectly fine birth 2 years later with DS.
