I think of the Don Johnson show, Nash Bridges, which is not a bad thing. I think there was also a character named Nash on One Life to Live at one point. Definitely a GP name for me, but if you like it, go for it.
I wouldn't consider it "too unique" since you hear it occasionally as a last name, Nash Bridges, etc.
As a first name, my opinion is that it's "just okay". I don't love it, but I wouldn't consider it bad. I'd like it better as a nickname (though just not sure what it would be a nn for).
When I think of a name that is "too unique" I think of absurd spellings... like sticking a y in the place of an i, or completely making up some name that no one will be able to say or read correctly even though you have no cultural/familial connection to it.
Nash sounds very nick-namey but that is not a bad thing. It is traditionally a last name, so most people will just assume his last name is Nash and he is called that because of sports or something. Does that make sense? That is just what I would assume if I met a Nash.
The name itself seems a little harsh on a baby. It just sounds sort of dirty like ashes. I think it is because the only association I have is a really gross and dumb security guard on the 90s movie Richie Rich. Kids today would probably never see that movie though.
It's not bad, but it's maybe a little nick-namey as a stand-alone.
I like pps suggestion of Dashiell (NN Dash) or Asher (NN Ash). Those will both give you the sound you're going for, but with a more formal sounding given name.

I like it mostly for this reason - I used to love that show! I personally would not use it, but would not think of it as too unique or otherwise strange if I heard it.

This.

I wouldn't say unique...as I have heard it as both a FN and a LN rather often.
However, it's NMS it reminds me of Gnash...as in gnashing ones teeth.
I don't like it.
Me, too.
This.
As I say it more the better it sounds. I like it.
yep
bad

Probably what I'd think of as well. Or Mash. or Crash. Eh. Infinitely would prefer it as a nickname to a full name on its own.
