Travel question....snack/dvd organization?

How do you keep all of your DC's things organized while traveling? Between the toys, DVD's, snacks and trash my car becomes a disaster real quick-seems I'm always digging for something.

Re: Travel question....snack/dvd organization?

  • We don't let the kids have snacks in the car because I'm too terrified that they will choke (and I think that it makes the car and carseat get too messy too fast). But when we travel, we put all the toys/books in a tote (Lands End) right beside the carseat so he can pull one out/put one back when he wants to. For the DVDs, we put those in a small bag that he can't reach so he can't mess it up too much. For trash, we just put it in a bag in the front seat and throw it away when we stop for gas or get to our destination.

  • I keep a canvas bin next to Jack's carseat for his toys. I throw any toys he drops during the car ride in the bin before getting him out of his seat.

I keep snacks in my door to pass back to him when we're driving. I keep the drink to water only. His car seat is perfectly clean. I shake him out when we get out of the car if he has crumbs on him.

I keep his dvds in a cd case in his door. I let him pick the next one he wants to watch.

We don't have much trash unless we are on a road trip. I can not stand disorder. Especially while on road trips. I keep a doggy poop bag handy to put wrappers in.
