More fertilized & Bed Rest question

RE called yesterday to decide if we would do a 3dt. Turns out two more of my eggs fertilized a little late! I'd posted the other day (24r, 21m, 18 fert) but now we have 20 that fertilized! Those extra two were two of the non-icsi ones. I was surprised but happy!

Since they feritilized a little late they are behind in growth. We have one 4- and seven 3+ with the possibility of the 2 late fertilizers catching up to a good rating. I didn't write down the rest of the ratings since my RE said his cut off for waiting for a 5dt is to have eggs that are 3+ and above and we had 8 of those! I'm scheduled for my 5dt Monday afternoon. If possible we hope to transfer one of the naturally fertilized blasts rather than an ICSI one. FX everything keeps moving along like it should!

My RE doesn't believe in bedrest, he says there is no evidence that it works but we should do whatever makes us feel better. (And his success rates are the same as the other doctors at my clinic). My transfer is at 12:30 on Monday and I have to be in court Monday afternoon and again on Tuesday. I was planning to go back to work after the transfer since my job is pretty sedentary, but now I am second guessing that decision. Is anyone else not doing bed rest? What have your doctors suggested?

My doctor recommends 24 hours of bedrest, so I'm no help there.  But what great numbers and a great fert report!  Good luck on Monday!

My doc recommends "taking it easy" day of and then no heavy lifting. Good luck tomorrow!!

Great surprise!  Mine recommended 2 days of being a couch potato.  Nothing strenuous or jarring.  Do what makes you feel comfortable.  Good luck tomorrow!!

Those are some great numbers whoberry! That's awesome!

As for the bedrest, my RE recommends 24 hours of bed rest and then says to resume normal activities. I know that I have seen reports about women not needing bedrest after ET, but I think some docs keep having their patients do it for peace of mind. I'd say do whatever you were comfortable with. If you would end up second guessing your cycle should it fail because you didn't take it easy that day, then take the day off. The peace of mind is probably worth it.

My doctor says to go back to normal activity but no lifting heavy things. I think you should be fine!

My dr. is pretty strict on bedrest (48 hours) but plenty of them are fine with minimal activity. Your RE knows what's best for you so i'm sure you'll be fine!

My Dr requires 72 hours of bedrest.  The day of ET and the next 2 days.
