If they are cloth, I wash them in the washer. Be careful when you dry them, because they could kind of shrink up. If you have the time, hang them up to to dry and then fluff in the washer for 5-10 minutes.
If they are plastic, I generally take them outside and spray with cleaner (I use the Scrubbing Bubbles kind) and scrub with a brush we only use for the shower curtains. I also spray with a mold blocker.
Beyond wiping them down once a week when i clean the rest of the bathroom, I spray a daily shower cleaner on them after I shower. Keeps the mold and mildew off like a charm!

We're really klassy over here. All we use is the clear plastic liner. The shower is in a mudroom, so not really on display when guests come over.
I thought of just throwing it out and replacing it, but I felt guilty... that just seems really wasteful.
I didn't really want to just spray and scrub because it's soft and that just seems like a good way to piss me off quick.
So I was leaning toward the washer. I guess I just wanted to make sure others do this and how to do it for "best" results.
Thanks for the tip on throwing some towels in there, -Auntie-. That's a good idea.
I've also used bleach on the plastic one when it was particularly grungy looking. Comes out looking like new.

I have a fabric curtain and a plastic liner- I spray it with cleaner once a week when I clean and replace it when it gets too gross.

You take them off, take them outside and wash them with vinegar and water and a scrub brush and hose them off.
At least, that's what I do.
(or, replace them when they get mildewy)
This is the best way to go I think.
