Seems like forever away

Had my monthly appointment on Thursday. Everything went well! They checked the heartbeat and asked me how I was feeling, and that was pretty much it!

We also scheduled my 21 week ultrasound which will take place at the local hospital, and we'll find out the gender there. It's not set until June 5th, and we thought it would happen sooner. the excitement is crazy, but I'm also growing impatient! How do you guys pass the time? I'm dying to baby shop, but I don't want to do it until we know if we're having a boy or girl. Have any of you guys had to wait longer than you thought you would to find out? And if so, how did you get yourself through the few anxious/excited weeks before hand? Time is currently ticking by so slowly!

Re: Seems like forever away

  • We find out May 31, and the anticipation is crazy! However I have been buying gender neutral sleep wear for baby and that has taken some of the itch away. Also I am concentrating on the nursery since we are doing grey and white and then adding the pink or blue accents once we find out.

  • I've just been building my amazon and target registries to pass the time and investigating products.  I'm doing it for a boy and a girl so when I find out I can just go back and delete the wrong color stuff.  Mind you, most of these items are things we will buy, but shopping for them online is fun.  I've changed my mind a million times, but its nice because you can get dad's or other people's input when you save everything on a registry.  I guess we will make our registry public closer to baby shower time and when we've finalized what all we are going to buy.

  • If you're planning to have more kids, I wouldn't go gender specific on many items.  Babies do fine in brownish/greenish carseats and swings and high chairs and strollers and diaper bags.  For us, only clothes were gender-specific.

  • I feel like time is moving at a snails pace.  I am very anxious to find out what we are having. I am swamped at work with end of the school year stuff but that doesn't make time go faster.
